& Earth hour is tmr! 28/3/2009 Saturday 8.30-9.30 i m gonna join in to turn off the lights! it should be a pretty fun and meaningful thing to do w/o the lights... i guess it would be the best to look out for stars in the nightsky haha explore the world w/o lights i bet we can find many riveting things for us to find out and explore we should all do our part to reduce global warming :) protect mother earth for a better tomorrow! Change is good for a new start.
VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.
Even restaurant and university are doing their part shouldn't we do sth too? VOTE EARTH!

lol anyway i was curious bout the carving jack-o'lantern part why the name??? hahaha
A “Jack O’ Lantern” is a pumpkin that has had its insides taken out while a pair of eyes, a nose and a mouth have been cut out on its side so light from a candle which has been placed inside might be seen by all in the dark. This is what a “Jack O’ Lantern” is but where does this beautifully frightful object get its name from? This is what the following story is about. Once upon a time there was a man whose name was Jack his last name being O’ Lantern as he was Irish. Jack like many a man in Ireland enjoyed a shot of whisky from time to time among many other drinks which might have included a pint of Guinness now and then. Jack was also rumored to have been a man who despised working and everything that took away his freedom to loaf about doing what he enjoyed the most which was nothing that did not including going to the pub for a drink. Jack lived a gay life as he would stay up to the early hours of the morning drinking in merry company only to sleep through the rest of the day so that he might wake up late in the afternoon with intensions of repeating the same cycle. Such was the life of this man who in truth never did harm to no man but then again never did good to no man either. Good deeds however were not the only thing this man never performed for it can not be said in truth that this man never performed what could be labeled as an honest days work as his life was one of laziness. Jack had a grand life or so he thought till one day while at his favorite bar the devil came upon him to inform him that his time on earth was up meaning he would have to accompany the devil on a road that would lead to where people like him belonged. Jack however remained defiant in the face of the prince of darkness and challenged him to attest who he was by saying in a cheeky manner “If you are so powerful as you claim to be then prove it! Change yourself in to a coin and you will have left no doubt over whom you say you are”. The devil incensed by this defiance turned himself in to a coin which Jack suddenly grabbed tightly in his hand on which he had had a cross carved on. It was in doing this that he trapped the devil who offered Jack what ever he wanted if he were to let him go. Jack once having trapped the devil and knowing he had him at his mercy negotiated that should the devil not bother him for one more year he would let him go. The devil not having much in the way of options agreed and did not disturb Jack for another year. A year however passed from that day on which Jack O’ Lantern encountered the devil for the first time and therefore the devil came back with vengeance to claim Jack but Jack would not have it fore he tricked the devil again. This time Jack was outside and instead of goading him in to turning himself in to a coin he deceived him in to claiming up a tree where he trapped him by carving out a cross on it. Naturally with the cross between himself and the ground the devil was trapped on this tree and therefore unable to get down. Jack at that moment seeing the opportunity struck another deal with the devil telling him that in return for his help in getting down the tree the devil should grant him more time on earth which the devil did. Naturally like all good things that must come to an end eventually so did Jack’s life however when he died he had a problem and that being that when he got to heaven God did not want him there because after all he had never done any acts of kindness for anyone. Jack then after having been refused entrance by the all mighty knew not were to turn to so he tried to see if he could enter hell but it was once again that he was denied access this time by the same devil whom he had tricked. Oh, poor Jack had no where to go as he was unwelcome where ever he went! It was a sad case even for the devil who in a show of pity gave him a pumpkin (ok, it was really a turnip) with a red hot amber inside telling him that it would serve to light his way while he walked the earth for the rest of eternity as such was his fate. And that as they say is the tale of “Jack O’ Lantern” the man who unwillingly gave his name to the item that no proper Halloween can ever go with out or who shall know fore it maybe that what we are seeing is the spirit of Jack O’ Lantern walking the earth. i went back KHS today it was a rush day ha firstly me and amanda rushed from sch to mrt we were lyk quite late it was ald 12.57 lyk that when we were on the train and yuyang sms said that mrs tan leaving at 1.15 we were lyk shocked! coz left bout 18min onli and we juz left buona vista?! so we rush out of redhill mrt and took cab then hav prob finding one that we can take lol coz we didn't noe which taxi can take at the taxi stand ha
but luckily we managed to meet mrs tan!!!!!!! its has ald been 2yrs since we last saw her kinda miss her lol lyk seriously & she very cute i tell u ha! the way she talk if only she still teaches us! and i was shock she still rmb me!!!

but she said she shld be leaving by this year aww... cannot bear to see her leave lar haiz she say she can't be complacent and she wan more challenge argh and she might go dubai teach

haha ytd went st. james power station with my bro he got tickets to the jam hsiao yin yue hui so i went with him
we tot tat go thr at 4 plus the queue won't be so long but in the end zomg the queue damn long le lah and the fans in front queued from 2pm (they rushed down aft his autograph session?!) and the ppl behind us specially went to sign up the student plan just for the tickets and they were lyk in groups of 8 haha
kk but actually jam hsiao is really not bad his voice alot of power lah like super gd k his vocals if u hear it live its damn nice haha tink now can add him into my list of idols
and though he don't like to speak a lot, he very cute and funny :D really reminds me of L in deathnote muahahaha

WOO! back from level camp haha St. john island was not as bad as I tot it was except that there are so many insects all around and the bathing parts haha
M18! CHACHAAAAA! we are the best yea~ NIFLECT too! our camp nite performance LOL! & instructor kai lee and kelvin :D and whats more kai lee is a ex-dunmanian and was once from band 0.0
though the first day was kind of sian but i tink overall the camp was nice :D especially the campfire! haha i was super high tat day! & i dunno y i really get high when doing mass dance everytime haha maybe bcoz the song is already GET HIGH! ha...

I think this year CNY is the busiest new year ever. HAHA
new year eve went back to kong hwa school & well we miss the chance to see mrs tan again ): & its lyk by a few mins only coz she went back early as she is flying off that nite then we talked to her through phone but the conversation is not very clear though haha
then we went out on a well mini 6/2 outing haha which comprises of juz erm 8 ppl HAHA ok rachel, amanda, wei shan, lionel, woon wei, eric, yu yang and me LOL ok & well the boys are indeed very very tall...
had reunion dinner that night and the nxt day weny my grandma house to bai nian haha
aft that went sentosa for 2 days and the place is damn pack u hav to queue for hours to sit the cable car, train & all those. the people there is more than usual by a lot & there is dis person who tried to scare me haha she pretended to be one of the wax figures and just sat on the steps then i was lyk wondering if she was real or not then she suddenly say hello haha
& the flowers dis year tink is much nicer than the ones last year haha & underwater world has this ratfish which looks quite lyk a rat hahaha
other days od CNY also quite busy... anw haha its a great chinese new year :)
